Helotes, Texas, November 17, 2011—Imperial Sports Auctions is a website that serves as a treasure chest of autographed sports memorabilia that includes vintage sports cards, autographed photos, and other various pieces of memorabilia.
The current Fall auction, which runs through December 1st, includes a diverse collection of baseball memorabilia that enthusiasts are finding especially enticing this year. Some of the items up for auction include an autographed photo of Babe Ruth in his baseball uniform, autographed single baseballs including one signed by Roberto Clemente, another with the autograph of Dizzy Dean, and one signed by Roger Maris.
The auction includes a variety of other autographed baseballs, including a baseball from the 1956 World Series signed by the New York Yankees, and a gorgeous official American League ball, single signed by Thurman Munson.
Another item that is likely to be the subject of a bidding war is a Ty Cobb signed Brown and Bigelow poster print from about 1953. This 24″x 30″ print is up for auction for the first time, and as one collector stated, “This Cobb signed Brown & Bigelow print may be a one of a kind.”
This auction also features the collection of former major leaguer, Bob Botz. The highlight of this collection includes game used jersey pants worn by Harmon Killebrew, circa 1961-1962. In addition to the jersey pants in the Botz collection, buyers also have the opportunity to bid on a Bob Botz Louisville slugger game used baseball bat, which is included in a lot sold with a his 1st game ball as a professional, circa 1955, and a 1959 South Atlantic League All Star Travel clock.
Several other lots comprise the Bob Botz collection, including baseballs signed by players such as Negro League star Horace Garner, Felix Mantilla, Warren Spahn, Don Larsen, Andy Pafko, and more. Various lots in the Bob Botz collection carry minimum bids that start as low as $50, meaning novice and experience collectors alike will have a chance to make great finds. Collectors have been expressing extreme excitement over the immaculate items in the Botz collection, which also includes items like signed contracts and a rare set of four original Seattle Pilots Team Cups from 1969.
Imperial Sports’ past auction highlights have included rare finds such as an 8×10 photograph of Babe Ruth signed for his personal physician from 1947, early vintage baseball cards of Christy Mathewson and Ty Cobb, and the earliest known Lou Gehrig signature from 1917 at the tender age of 13. A past auction also included a Ty Cobb autographed T206 tobacco card with related ephemera which was auctioned for an impressive $27,600.
