Home Frequently Asked Questions
What items are you currently looking to purchase or consign?

We are actively pursing vintage baseball signatures, dating from the 19th century – mid 20th century. Players including, but not limited to, the likes of : Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, Ty Cobb, Rogers Hornsby, Jimmie Foxx, Walter Johnson, Christy Mathewson, Jackie Robinson, Honus Wagner, Mordecai “Three Finger” Brown, Roger Maris, Mel Ott, Roberto Clemente, Thurman Munson, Satchel Paige, Dizzy Dean, Grover Alexander, Mickey Mantle, Chief Bender, Tris Speaker, Hugh Duffy, Hughie Jennings, Eddie Plank, Johnny Evers, Josh Gibson, Napoleon “Larry” Lajoie, Kid Nichols, Cy Young, and many more – there are too many to list!

We are also very interested in acquiring turn of the century photographs; team composites and solo portraits, cabinet cards, etc.

Pre-war trading cards are also in high demand including candy, bakery, and tobacco cards. Anything pre-1960 is something we may be interested in.

Currently, we are not interested in modern cards and/or signatures.

Do you purchase items outright, or take consignments?
Both! If you are looking to sell your piece of memorabilia fast, and for a fair price, we’ll buy it! Have additional time, you might want to consider consigning your piece. We are aggressively pursing consignments for our upcoming auction. Either way, you will be happy with the superior service you receive from Imperial Sports Auctions.
Why should I consign with your company?
With Imperial Sports Auctions, you are lot #1, not #1201. Every client is special to us! In so many of the large auction firms they will simply put your Babe Ruth signature alongside the other ten Ruth’s in the same auction. That will not be the case with us. Customer Service is paramount in any industry, and we strive to exceed versus the competition. Give us a try, you will not be disappointed.
Grading of Cards…Autograph Authentication….what is all that?
In most cases, all sports cards sold by us will be professionally graded by PSA or SGC. If your card(s) is/are not graded, we can assist you with this process. Nearly every autographed item we sell will have a LOA (Letter of Authenticity) from one of the two major authenticators: JSA (James Spence Authentication) or PSA/DNA. We do this to insure our customers, both consignors and potential bidders, that their item is genuine. An LOA from one of these major authenticators gives complete satisfaction to our clients, and will deter any potential problems in the future with our items based on authenticity. We can assist you with the grading or authentication of your sports cards, autographs, and game used memorabilia – just contact us today!
OK, this is starting to sound good, but what if my item gets lost or damaged while in your possession?
Good question! Once your item arrives to our office, it is insured. All our items are fully insured through the Collectibles Insurance Agency. If you need assistance mailing your item(s), please contact us for some helpful tips.
