Dizzy Dean & Will Harridge Signed c.1953 Callahan Baseball Cards w/Near Set - 61 Cards Total.

For most collectors, they only dream of owning cards of some of baseballs greatest players as most can easily enter astronomical pricing. This lot offers a great "starter" set for any collector - one looking to delve into the vintage realm or one which has everything (almost).

The Callahan set was produced from 1950-1956, with pencil sketches on the front by artist Marlo DeMarco and a short biography on the reverse. All the cards measure approx. 1.75" x 2.5" with the majority in excellent - near mint condition; some better/lesser. Out of the fifty-nine (59) cards included in this lot, two have been autographed - Dizzy Dean and Will Harridge (on the Landis card). The remaining unsigned cards include the following players: Grover Alexander, Cap Anson, Dan Brouthers, Roger Bresnahan, Mordecai Brown, Jesse Burkett, Morgan G. Bulkeley, Alexander Cartwright, Frank Chance, Henry Chadwick, Jack Chesbro, Fred Clarke, Mickey Cochrane, Eddie Collins, Jimmie Collins, Charles A. Comiskey, Candy Cummings, Ed Delahanty, Hugh Duffy, Johnny Evers, Buck Ewing, Jimmie Foxx, Frank Frisch, Lou Gehrig, Charles Gehringer, Clark Griffith, Lefty Grove, Harry Heilmann, Carl Hubbell, Napoleon Lajoie, Hughey Jennings, Ban Johnson, Walter Johnson, Willie Keeler, Mike Kelly, Christy Mathewson, Tommy McCarthy, Joe McGinnity, John McGraw, Charles Nichols, Jim O'Rourke, Mel Ott, Herb Pennock, Eddie Plank, Charles Radbourne, Wilbert Robinson, Babe Ruth, George Sisler, Tris Speaker, Joe Tinker, Al Simmons, A.G. Accompanied by an Auction Letter of Authenticity from James Spence Authentication (JSA).
