1955 New York Yankees Team Signed, Autographed Baseball

Close your eyes and imagine a visit to the old Yankees stadium, the one that Ruth built. The stadium that held more legends than any other. Ruth, Gehrig, DiMaggio, Mantle, Maris, Munson and the list goes on.

Now it's 1955. This Official American League ball (Harridge) has been penned by twenty-eight (28) members of the 1955 American League champion New York Yankees. Those signatures include Hall of Famers Mantle, Berra Ford and Ruzzuto. Other key signatures include Elston Howard, Lopat, Collins, Bauer, Morgan and Konstanty.

Overall, you would be hard pressed to find a finer '55 team signed Yankees ball. This Harridge sphere is in amazing condition and looks like it was literally picked off the shelf this week. The majority of the signatures are a resounding '8-9' in strength. All of the signatures are genuine; no clubhouse on this one!

The description for this lot was updated on 11/30/11. Thank you for patiently waiting until we received the LOA from JSA confirming the authenticity of all the signatures. Regarding the low minimum bid: Initially, we felt that there may have been some potential clubhouse signatures on the ball; thus the low starting price. JSA has since confirmed that all the autographs are in fact genuine and our suspicions were unfounded. Even though no bids had been placed, we feel like the right thing to do is to keep the minimum bid as is and not raise it higher based on the positive information received.

Accompanied by a full Letter of Authenticity (LOA) from James Spence Authentication.
