You may have seen Babe Ruth, Ty Cobb, or Walter Johnson signatures in the past, but not like in this offering. This is one of the finest compilations of autographs one could imagine, which dates to the glory days of baseball. Three of the five inaugural 1936 Hall of Fame inductees are offered here, all on one spectacular piece. We find this treasure to be perhaps the finest item from our Roth Collection being offered in this auction. Signed on vintage off white notebook paper, are three tremendous scriptings of Babe Ruth, Ty Cobb and Walter Johnson. These timeless autographs coupled with their respective newspaper photo captions and Mrs. Roth's dated notations, bring this piece to museum quality. The Ruth autograph is an early example (with quotes) and is close to Gem-Mint worthy, '9-10.' The Cobb, in black fountain pen, is nearly as impressive; '8-9.' And then we find whom many consider the greatest pitcher of all time, Walter Johnson. His surname remains lighter than his first, yet is still quite attractive; '6.' Measures approx. 5" x 7.5" in overall excellent condition; folds and tac holes present; small tear near bottom left. The top portion is somewhat wavy, however could be matted nicely. Accompanied by a full Letter of Authenticity from James Spence Authentication(JSA).

The Roth Collection consists of a large collection of baseball signatures from 1925-1929. Our consignor's mother, Mrs. Loretta Roth(Watt), owned cigar stands inside the distinguished Ryan and St. Paul hotels in the Minneapolis area. She befriended Grace Comiskey(daughter in-law to Charles), and due to her love and knowledge of baseball, was given "all access" to players of the time. We are proud to offer this amazing find with some simply remarkable signatures including Ruth, Cobb, Johnson, Alexander, and so many more!
