Harmon Killebrew Game Used Pants from 1962
Reining from the Bob Botz collection, this lot offers a Harmon Killebrew pair of 'Away' game used trouser pants from his 1962 season. Game used memorabilia can be subject to great intrigue and discussion when trying to pin down the exact dates and accuracy of an items game usage. Provenance is the tale of the tape and this lot is no different. An excerpt from the letter Mr. Botz has kindly typed and signed for the winning bidder of this lot is as follows:
"While playing for the West Allis, Wisconsin Semi-Pro Highway Beer baseball team as pitcher, my manager Tex Belich proudly presented us with the Minnesota Twins Major league uniforms to be worn by us for the 1963 season...Twins scout, Phil Galivan, had gotten them during Spring Training in 1963 since they replaced all home and away uniforms annually with new uniforms."
Other than a direct aquisition from Harmon, you could not ask for a much better lineage for this item. The pants are marked in ink, W-34 L-25 and are sewed Killebrew 3 36 25 62. They do appear to be have been washed at some point in time. The pants are in fantastic condition with just a small hole on the left pant leg.
Accompanied by a Letter of Provenance from former major league baseball player, Bob Botz.
