George Sisler Autographed Baseball - Single Signed.

George Harold Sisler, known has a fantastic fielder and speedster on the base path, was also a more than capable hitter. During his fifteen seasons in the major leagues, he compiled over 2,800 hits with an astounding career batting average of .340. Capturing the Most Valuable Player award in 1922, Sisler dominated the ranks with 246 hits while stealing 51 bases! That year takes us to this ball offered to you in our July Vintage Rarities Auction.

This Official American League baseball, c.1920-1924 based on the stampings, has been autographed by George Sisler on the sweetspot in fountain tip pen. The ball has been thoroughly shellacked and is in fair condition with some chipping present, in addition to a hanging hook that was attached to the ball.

The Dead Ball era, known as the time from 1900-1919 was the precursor to the advent of the homerun era made popular by Babe Ruth. With that in mind, single-signed baseballs by HOF members from this time period are incredible scarce. Sisler made history during both eras and single-signed baseballs from his playing days are nearly impossible to find. Very low minimum bid to get this one started.

Accompanied by a full Letter of Authenticity from James Spence Authentication (JSA).
