Our authenticators from JSA have opined and aptly noted on their LOA that the ball is c.1920-1924, and the signature itself bears similar characteristics indicative of early-mid 1920's Ruth autographs. The fact that this ball can be identified as such gives credence to an elevated value as compared to most Ruth signed spheres within the hobby. Simply put, the earlier the Ruth signing, the higher its value. Very few collectors can say they own a Babe Ruth autographed baseball, yet even a smaller pool of collectors can proudly confirm that an early example such as this one resides in their collection.
